Legrand radiant® and Pass & Seymour GFCI outlets typically carry a 1-year limited warranty against defects in material and workmanship. Because these are complex electronic safety devices, they do not carry the lifetime warranty found on simple mechanical switches. Always check the packaging for specific terms.

Legrand self-test GFCI outlets automatically run a diagnostic check every 3 seconds. This ensures the internal circuitry is functioning correctly. You should still perform a manual test (pressing the "Test" button) once a month as recommended by the manufacturer.

If the small LED indicator light on your Legrand GFCI is flashing red, it means the device has failed its self-test and is no longer providing ground fault protection. You must replace the outlet immediately.

The National Electrical Code (NEC) generally requires GFCI protection in "wet" areas, including:

• Kitchens (countertops)
• Bathrooms (all receptacles)
• Garages and Accessory Buildings

Only if it is marked "WR" (Weather-Resistant). Standard radiant GFCIs are for indoor use. For outdoor outlets, you must use a Pass & Seymour or radiant model explicitly labeled "WR" on the face, and it must be installed inside a weather-proof cover.

• Line: The terminals where the incoming power (from the breaker) connects.
• Load: The terminals used to feed power to other outlets downstream. Wiring this correctly allows one GFCI to protect multiple standard outlets connected to it.

This usually indicates a wiring error (Line/Load reversal) or a ground fault on the circuit. Legrand GFCIs feature a safety lockout that prevents the "Reset" button from engaging if the device is miswired (Line/Load reversed) during installation.

If you are installing the outlet on a 20 Amp circuit (common in modern kitchens and garages), you can use a 20 Amp GFCI (has a "T" slot). However, per code, you can also use a 15 Amp GFCI on a 20 Amp circuit as long as there is more than one outlet on that circuit.
