The RAB Lighting EXIT-NY is a heavy-duty, New York City Approved LED exit sign engineered to meet the strict dimensional and material requirements of the NYC Department of Buildings and local fire codes. Available in an AC Only (EXIT-NY) and a 90-Minute Battery Backup (EXIT-NY-E) configuration, both models feature 8-inch high red stencil letters, a rugged white steel sheet housing, universal single or double-face configuration, and flexible back, top, or end mounting on a dual 120/277V input. Both are UL924 Listed and California Title 20 compliant. The Battery Backup model adds an internal 3.6V Nickel Cadmium battery with a manual test switch for code-compliant routine inspections. An extra faceplate and mounting canopy hardware are included with both models.

Battery Backup Model (EXIT-NY-E)

The EXIT-NY-E adds an integrated 3.6V Nickel Cadmium (NiCd) battery that automatically activates during a power failure, maintaining full exit sign illumination for a minimum of 90 minutes — meeting NEC and IBC emergency egress requirements without reliance on a centralized generator. The battery fully recharges within 24 hours after restoration of AC power. A manual test switch on the housing allows routine compliance testing during building inspections without external equipment. Note: The battery backup model is rated for ambient temperatures of 68°F–86°F (20°C–30°C).

AC Only Model (EXIT-NY)

The EXIT-NY operates exclusively on AC power and is intended for facilities equipped with a centralized emergency generator or inverter system that maintains power to exit signs during an outage.
