Description
RAB WFR-4R/PIR 4 in Smooth Trim Edge-Lit Wafer Downlight with Motion Sensor — 9W / Selectable CCT / 120-277V / White
The RAB WFR-4R/PIR is a 4 in round edge-lit wafer downlight in white finish with an integrated PIR motion sensor and photocell, delivering 750 lumens at 9W with a wide 110° beam angle and 90 CRI. The slim canless design mounts directly to the ceiling via the included die-formed metal remote driver/junction box — no recessed housing required. CCT is field-selectable between five color temperatures (default 3000K) via integrated dipswitch, with adjustable motion modes and hold times for hands-free, energy-efficient operation. Non-dimmable.

Sensor Operation
The WFR-4R/PIR features an integrated passive infrared (PIR) sensor with a 13 ft detection diameter at 6.5 ft mounting height. Motion mode and hold time are independently adjustable via integrated dipswitches at installation.
- Auto (default): Light stays OFF during the day. At night, turns ON at 100% when motion is detected; turns OFF after hold time expires.
- Bi-Level: Light stays OFF during the day. At night, turns ON at 100% when motion is detected; reduces to 50% after hold time expires, then turns OFF.
- Off: Motion detection disabled.
The integrated photocell activates the sensor below 65-75 lux (dusk) and deactivates it above 75-85 lux (dawn) to prevent daytime triggering.
Construction & Design
The WFR-4R/PIR features a steel heatsink enclosure with a polyester UV-resistant trim in matte white (fade and scratch resistant) and a frosted polycarbonate lens for even, smooth light distribution. Two tension steel spring clips secure the wafer to ceilings up to 15/16 in thick. Weight: 1.0 lbs.
Light Output & Performance
With 750 lm at 9W, 83 lm/W efficacy, a 90 CRI, R9 > 50, and a wide 110° beam angle, the WFR-4R/PIR delivers broad, accurate illumination for motion-activated applications. Rated lifespan: 50,000 hours L70 per IES LM-70.
Electrical & Installation
