The RAB SUMO-R-9K is a slim, edge-lit LED surface-mount downlight with matte black smooth trim and a frosted acrylic lightguide. Its 9 in round form and profile under 1 in bring softly diffused illumination close to the ceiling. Five selectable color temperatures let you choose the light tone for your space, while compatible TRIAC/ELV dimming adjusts brightness.

Construction & Design

The smooth matte black trim provides a clean border around the frosted acrylic lightguide, which distributes light evenly without hotspots. Steel heatsink construction supports thermal performance, and the polyester trim ring is UV resistant. The fixture measures 9 in in diameter, has a profile under 1 in and weighs 1.2 lb.

Light Output & Performance

The integrated 18W LED provides 1,506–1,622 lumens with efficacy of 84–90 lm/W. Choose 2700K, 3000K, 3500K, 4000K or 5000K to suit the room. Its 90 CRI and R9 greater than 50 support accurate color rendering, and the rated 50,000-hour L70 lifespan avoids routine bulb replacement.

Electrical & Installation

The driver-on-board design avoids a separate rear driver enclosure and allows installation on most common junction boxes. The low-profile surface-mount form preserves ceiling clearance without a pendant-style hanging drop. Connect to 120V at 60Hz; the individual sheet specifies 167mA input current. Compatible TRIAC/ELV dimmers adjust output down to 10%.

The fixture is suitable for indoor or outdoor dry, damp and wet locations and is not IC rated or airtight. Select the desired color temperature at the fixture DIP switch during installation.
