RAB SUMO-R-5K 5.5 in Round LED Surface Mount — Matte Black, 10W, Selectable CCT

The RAB SUMO-R-5K is a slim, edge-lit LED surface-mount downlight for spaces where hanging clearance is limited. Its matte black finish frames softly diffused light, while the 5.5 in diameter and profile under 1 in keep the fixture close to the ceiling. Select one of five color temperatures and adjust brightness with a compatible TRIAC/ELV dimmer.

Construction & Design

The matte black round trim has a fade- and scratch-resistant finish with a smooth appearance. A steel heatsink supports thermal performance, while the UV-resistant polyester trim ring surrounds a frosted acrylic lightguide that spreads illumination evenly without hotspots. The fixture measures 5.5 in across, has a profile under 1 in and weighs 0.6 lb.

Light Output & Performance

The integrated LED delivers 820 nominal lumens at 10W. Five selectable settings span warm 2700K through cool 5000K, allowing the light tone to be chosen during installation. With 90 CRI and R9 greater than 50, the fixture supports accurate color rendering. Its rated 50,000-hour L70 life eliminates routine bulb replacement.

Electrical & Installation

The driver-on-board design avoids a separate rear driver enclosure and allows installation on most common junction boxes. The low-profile surface-mount form suits ceilings where a hanging fixture would reduce clearance. Electrical input is 120V at 60Hz; use compatible TRIAC/ELV dimming controls for adjustment down to 10%.

The fixture is suitable for indoor or outdoor dry, damp and wet locations. It is not IC rated and not airtight. Select the color temperature using the fixture DIP switch during installation.
