The RAB R34S series is an economical CCT-adjustable square retrofit downlight family, available in 4 in and 6 in sizes with smooth or baffle trim in white or black finish. Polycarbonate construction with E26 Edison base adapter for compatibility with most standard recessed can housings. Field-selectable CCT via dip switch — 5 color temperatures in 1 SKU. 120V input. Wet rated. California Title 20 compliant across all configurations.

Light Output & Performance
The R34S series scales from 600 lm (4 in) to 900 lm (6 in) across all trim and finish configurations. Black finish SKUs deliver 100 lm/W efficacy at slightly lower wattage (6W / 9W), while white finish SKUs run at 7W / 10W with 86–90 lm/W. The 90° beam angle and frosted polycarbonate diffuser provide broad, even illumination ideal for general lighting. With a CRI of 90 and R9 >50, colors render accurately across all five CCT settings. The <4-step MacAdam Ellipse binning ensures consistent fixture-to-fixture color uniformity. Color temperature is warranted to shift no more than 200K over 5 years.
Electrical & Installation
All R34S SKUs operate on 120V input with a constant current driver. TRIAC/ELV dimmable to 10% — see the RAB Dimmer Compatibility List for compatible dimmers. PF ≥0.7, flicker ≤30%. Wet rated for dry, damp, and wet environments. Not air tight. Rated for operation from -4°F to 104°F. All SKUs install via E26 Edison base into most standard recessed can housings — no special housing required. IC rating varies by SKU: white finish SKUs are not IC rated; black finish SKUs depend on the recessed housing used.
