The RAB ND22 is a modular commercial downlight system available in 3 in, 4 in, 6 in, and 8 in round open white trim configurations. Each kit pairs a field-selectable light engine with an anodized aluminum trim (white flange, white reflector) and a rotating lens assembly for adjustable beam control. Wattage and CCT are set via dip switch. Universal 120–277V input. Suitable for retrofit, remodel, and new construction — accommodates up to 2 in ceiling thickness. Title 24 JA8 (Part 6) compliant. Light Output & Performance
The ND22 series scales from 600 lm (7W) on the 3 in engine up to 4,500 lm (50W) on the 8 in engine — each wattage step selectable in the field to match the exact demands of the space. With a CRI of 90–95 and R9 >50 across all configurations, colors render vividly and accurately regardless of CCT selection. The <4-step MacAdam Ellipse binning ensures consistent fixture-to-fixture color uniformity across a project. The rotating lens assembly delivers a beam range of 25°–45° on the 3/4/6 in engines and 30°–50° on the 8 in engine, giving specifiers precise control over distribution from accent to wide-area illumination. Color temperature is warranted to shift no more than 200K over 5 years.
Electrical & Installation
All ND22 engines operate on universal 120–277V input with a constant current Class A driver. Each size carries its own per-voltage current draw — see individual SKU pages for exact mA values at 120V, 208V, 240V, and 277V. Every engine supports both TRIAC/ELV dimming to 10% at 120V and 0–10V dimming to 10% across 120–277V, making the ND22 compatible with virtually any commercial dimming infrastructure. THD ≤20%, PF ≥0.9 at 120V / ≥0.7 at 277V, flicker ≤30%. Air tight certified per ASTM-E283. Not IC rated. Rated for operation from -4°F to 104°F. All kits install in retrofit, remodel, or new construction ceilings up to 2 in thick.
