The American Lighting STL-COB Series (TruLux Standard Grade) is a professional 24V DC COB (Chip-on-Board) LED tape light engineered for seamless, dotless linear illumination. Unlike standard SMD strips, the STL-COB uses a continuous phosphor coating over the full LED array — eliminating visible hotspots and dot-glare for perfectly uniform output across every inch. Available in five color temperatures (2700K–5000K), output ranges from 180 to 220 lumens per foot at 2.19W/ft, 90+ CRI, with IP54 moisture resistance and a 5-year limited warranty.

Designed for professional and residential installations alike, the STL-COB Series excels in under-cabinet kitchen lighting, cove and crown molding accents, display case and retail shelf lighting, bathroom vanity and mirror lighting, and closet lighting (NEC 410.16 compliant in enclosed channel). Light Output & Color Performance

The STL-COB Series is available in five CCT options to match any lighting application. 2700K Ultra Warm White (180 lm/ft) suits bedrooms, hospitality, and residential accent lighting. 3000K Soft White and 3500K Neutral White (200 lm/ft each) work across kitchens, living rooms, offices, and retail ambient lighting. 4000K Cool White and 5000K Daylight (220 lm/ft each) deliver maximum output for task lighting, bathrooms, retail display, and commercial color-critical environments. All CCTs maintain 90+ CRI for accurate color representation across surfaces and materials.

Power, Driver & Dimming Requirements

The STL-COB Series requires a 24V DC Class 2 LED driver (sold separately). At 2.19W/ft, a single 23 ft run draws approximately 50W — well within the 96W output of a Class 2 driver. Use this formula to size your driver: run length (ft) × 2.19W/ft ÷ 0.80 = minimum driver wattage. For a 16.4 ft reel: 16.4 × 2.19 ÷ 0.80 = 45W minimum — recommended ADPT-DRJ-60-24 (60W). For a 23 ft maximum run: 23 × 2.19 ÷ 0.80 = 63W minimum — recommended ADPT-DRJ-96-24 (96W). The 100 ft reel is intended for multi-zone installations — plan one driver per zone with a maximum of 23 ft of tape per driver output. For multi-zone installations, the ADPT-DRJ-192-24 (192W, 2×96W independent outputs) and ADPT-DRJ-288-24 (288W, 3×96W independent outputs) support two and three independently controlled zones respectively. Dimming requires a TRIAC or ELV-compatible dimmer wired on the 24V DC output side of the driver — never on AC line input.
