The Legrand Radiant RH703PTUTC is a Tru-Universal dimmer switch that works with LED, CFL, incandescent, fluorescent, magnetic low voltage and electronic low voltage. This Tru-Universal dimmer has a self-calibrating technology that automatically sets the minimum voltage based on the selected lamp type. The RH703PTUTC dimmer can be wired for single pole and 3-way operation with preset feature. This dimmer controls up to 450 watt CFL or LED, up to 700 watt incandescent or electronic low voltage, 50VA magnetic low voltage, and 5.5A fluorescent.

  • Self-calibration feature allows you to select lamp type, which then automatically sets the minimum voltage for that lamp, eliminating flicker and poor performance
  • Works with virtually any dimmable lamp and load on typical residential and light commercial wiring (with the exception of 0-10V LED drivers)
  • Convenient operation combines ON/OFF paddle switch with separate slider for dimming control
  • Rating: Incandescent, Halogen & ELV: 700W, MLV: 500VA, LED/CFL: 450W, EFL: 5.5A (Use RH4FBL3PTC for 0-10V)

Nice clean-looking dimmer but hard trouble with self-calibration feature

by Agnes M. -

I replaced an old, outdated dimmer for a halogen track lighting fixture with this one. I had trouble with setting the self-calibration feature to magnetic low-voltage (MLV) to avoid a slight buzzing sound when the lights are being dimmed (the LED blinking would not change to 2x per second as the instructions suggested). Technically the dimmer should pick up the voltage load and adjust automatically without the need to manually set it. I'm not sure if the problem is the dimmer or the transformer supplying energy to the light fixture. Other than that, the folks at Bee Lighting were great and I received my order quickly and accurately.
