A good fan, but could be better
by Stephen B. -
Bottom line: the LED is too bright to leave the fan in auto mode all the time, the controller makes a quiet, but noticeable noise when powered up -- a note in the instructions tells you not to wire in line with a digital controller or this will occur. But my fan is not on the same series as a controller. I intended to wire the fan and leave it in standby all the time, but the status light is simply too bright to install in a connected master bath-- at night, light will enter the bedroom. The fan is quiet, but not quiet like a ceiling fan. It is much quieter than a traditional bathroom fan though. Be careful is installing in a wall, the transition from fan to ducting is close enough that you will need to modify your top plate or lower the fan to get a duct installed--less ideal for a bathroom fan that should be close to the ceiling to get the rising air. If the manufacturer made a 90 degree adapter, it would be perfect! Overall a good fan for the money. The automatic feature is nice.
