LED recessed troffers are perfect lighting solutions for indoor applications like office lighting, classrooms, showrooms, lobbies, reception areas, hospitals and general ambient lighting. Most LED recessed troffers use indirect lighting that shines the light upward to a reflector which then bounces it downward. Different types of LED troffers include center basket troffers and flat prismatic troffers. LED center basket troffers have the LED chips lined in the middle and covered by a reflector. LED flat prismatic troffers are backlit troffers covered by a flat acrylic lens. LED lay-in troffers are easy to install recessed inside a ceiling, as a surface mount troffer using surface mount brackets, or suspended mount using cables and wires.
LED Troffer Retrofit KitsLED retrofits for fluorescent troffers are either snap-in retrofit fixtures with integrated LED, or retrofit kits that use LED light bars and LED drivers. Retrofitting fluorescent troffers is a fast and easy solution without having to replace the whole fixture. LED troffer retrofit fixtures come fully assembled and easily install into the existing housing. On the other hand, LED retrofit kits come with their own LED light bars or LED tube lamps and an external LED driver to replace the fluorescent tubes and ballast. Replacing fluorescent lamps with LED retrofits is more energy efficient and provides more cost savings and energy savings in the long run.
