LED Troffer Fixtures

LED troffers have the traditional shape and form of fluorescent ceiling fixtures. Recessed LED troffers come in 2x2, 2x4 and 1x4 sizes for flexible installation in ceiling grids and T-bars. LED troffer fixtures have longer lifespan than fluorescent T8 lamps and provide better light distribution to avoid a cave effect on the walls and ceiling. Most LED troffers use indirect lighting that shines the light upward to a reflector which then bounces it downward. Advantages of using LED troffers include 90+ CRI for more accurate color rendering, 0-10V dimming capability, motion sensors and emergency battery packs.

LED Panel Lights

LED panel lights are slim and low-profile replacements to linear fluorescent fixtures. LED flat panel lights are either back lit, which means the LED chips are mounted on the back plate and direct the light downward, or edge lit, which has the LED chips on the edge of the panel and directing the light towards the center. Edge lit LED panels are typically slimmer in size and ideal for shallow ceilings. LED lay-in panels are easy to install in a drywall or drop ceiling and require low maintenance. 2x2, 2x4 and 1x4 lay-in panels are ideal for hospitals, classrooms and showrooms that need wide light distribution.

LED Troffer Retrofit Kits

LED retrofits for fluorescent troffers are either retrofit fixtures with integrated LED, or retrofit kits that use LED light bars and LED drivers. Retrofitting fluorescent troffers is a fast and easy solution without having to replace the whole fixture. LED troffer retrofit fixtures come fully assembled and easily install into the existing housing. On the other hand, LED retrofit kits come with their own light bars or tube lamps and external LED driver to replace the fluorescent tubes and ballast. Replacing fluorescent lamps with LED is more energy efficient and provides more cost savings and energy savings in the long run.
