LED Flexible Strip Tape Lights
LED tape lights and flexible strip lights are used for under cabinet lighting or accent lighting around residential and commercial spaces. The brightness of 12V LED tape lights can be measured in lumens per foot. LED tape lights also come in rolls like 5 meters and 30 meters but can be field cuttable to the desired length. For task lighting, LED strip lights come in 2700K and 3000K warm white or 4000K and 5000K cool white colors. For decorative lighting, RGB LED tape lights are used around restaurants, bars and patios. 24V LED tape lights can also be used in wet location areas like pools and gardens.
LED Tape Lights
For bright accent lighting in kitchen counters, bathrooms and coves, white LED tape lights are the ideal solution. Using a warm white LED ribbon light creates a comfortable ambiance especially at night, which is why 2700K LED strip lights, 3000K LED tape lights and 3500K LED tape lights are more common in residential cove lighting and under cabinet lighting. Cool white LED ribbon lights are better for task lighting so 4000K LED ribbon lights and 5000K LED strip lights are more in demand commercial applications. Standard output LED tape lights and high output LED tape lights are used in a variety of under cabinet lighting applications depending on the brightness required. For longer runs around coves, soffits or pools, 24V LED tape lights are better to minimize the voltage drop towards the end. Installing LED flexible strip lights for outdoors needs to have a wet location rating.
RGB LED Tape Lights
RGB LED tape lights offer the full spectrum of colors for a more decorative under cabinet lighting style. 12V and 24V RGB LED tape lights can be used in clubs, pools and restaurants as part of the design. These LED strip lights use red, green and blue color-changing LED chips to create a full spectrum effect. 12V RGB LED tape lights are field cuttable for custom lengths. To use RGB LED ribbon lights, an RGB remote controller is required to change the color of the LED chips or to create a pattern. Color-changing LED tape lights are also linkable to create longer runs for cove lighting and eave lighting around buildings. LED tape lights are easy to install using adhesive tape or through mounting accessories like clips, brackets and channels. A variety of RGB LED tape lights called RGB+W or RGBW also have a white LED as a fourth chip to add a warm white or cool white color.
